Smoothie FTW

The lines are really the only reason i attend the kind of functions that conjure the hapless denizens of any counter culture. Not that Potter-ites or Harryiers or whatever they could be labeled are a definite counter culture. They are more a poor group of souls who must wait several years between nourishing canon injections. I, of course, include myself as one of these souls. Even though i like Star Wars better.

After 2 hours of wading through stringy wizard wigs and lit'lins with ink smudged on their foreheads, i gave up. Apparently i should have pre-ordered before November. Of 2002. As with the past harry potter releases, Stop and Shop was more than happy to supply me in my fanboy moment of need. They were nice about it, and didn't make things awkward by pointing out they were my secondary merchant of choice. They, however, did lack the glowing wands and free stickers that borders was quite liberal with.

And now my bed calls to me. Its been a long night, one filled with smoothie tossing and short skirts and books that cost too much. There were scarves too.

Oh lord...were there scarves.

So there are about 1 million things going on that ARENT book buying. i have relagated myself to hanging outside with the chain smokers...its stinky buut its cooler outside. Im in flavor country.

people are in costume, but its in the hodge podge style of well wishing fans and nothing of any quality. the less devoted of our party have abandoned us for the wizardless comfort of their muggle beds. Now is the winter of the socially aware.

normally i would be cringing at all the half-assed attempts at costumes here. i have been to star wars convention and i have seen some quality stuff. yet in my aging bitterness, i cant fault their trying. except for the teen fucks who just drove past going for the spoiler high. retorts leave them frothing mono syllabic responses. A second car attempted the same with an exquisite response from an aerial smoothie. hilarious people.

more people than expected

so me and my cadre made it to borders and, wow...lots of muggles and wizards alike. got my free glow wand though!
